Are We Really Surrendered To His Will

“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it” Matthew 10: 39

As Easter approaches, we witness an influx of television programs and discussions about the death and resurrection of Jesus. Many also decide to attend church, observing Easter Sunday with their families.

Seemingly, there is a worldwide acknowledgment of the Gospel; but what does this actually mean?

When Jesus walked the Earth, He performed many miracles. Many people were in awe. Many watched Him. In the beginning, many followed Him- until they realised the cost. As the above passage of Scripture from Matthew states: whoever loses his life for Jesus’ sake, will find it. So I pose this question to every professing Christian, including myself. Have you lost your life, or is it still yours?

It is not good enough for us to just observe events. Scripture often exhorts us to examine ourselves. The Pharisees were renowned for observing all of the feasts and traditions. Yet, we know their hearts were far from God. So let us not be deceived. God will not be mocked. You reap what you sow.

So during this season of Lent, let us take some time to see if we are really surrendered to His will.
